Some new trends that could be coming up in 2008….

Trend 1: Making Split Decisions

Can’t decide between a princess ball gown and a sexy mini? Wear both! In 2008, brides will make their guests do a double take by switching up their looks between the ceremony and reception with their gowns and hairstyles — like an elegant updo for when you recite your vows and switching to natural cascading curls to party. And it’s not just the bride that’s getting a makeover between acts. Couples are also changing up their palettes with a progression of color throughout the day. Guests arrive to a clean, all-white ceremony, experience a hint of pale hues during the cocktail hour, and then step into an explosion of rich color for the reception.

Trend 2: The Gray Area

Steel gray will replace chocolate brown as the accent color. We absolutely love this soft yet deep hue teamed with butter yellow, bright aqua, rich eggplant, or pale pink. It’s so versatile! Introduce the color in your stationery, either in the typeface or paper, and then gradually build it into your reception space by way of slate gray table accents and pewter-toned bridesmaid dresses with a contrasting sash.

I have a short hair, just right at my shoulder. I guess, this is pretty difficult to have my hair do during my wedding dinner. Thanks to the internet! I manage to get tips for my “Wedding Hair Do’s — Short Hair” ;) and I MUST have a tiara!
Wedding hair checklist :-

  1. Have a trial run with your stylist as soon as your wedding date is set. If possible, take along a photo of your dress, and any headpiece or hair accessories.
  2. Find out if you need to grow your hair length, improve the condition with conditioning treatments, change the colour or have some highlights.
  3. NEVER shampoo hair or conditioning treatments on the wedding day.
  4. On the day of the wedding make sure the bridal party wear button or zip-up clothes. No crew neck jumpers! This will ensure you dont mess up your style…
  5. Now just relax…..

Licesnse To Wed

Licesnse To Wed
I will definitely recommend this movie to those who are preparing to marry their partner. “I do” is not a simple statement, it means a lot. If you think getting married is just easy as buying a cup of coffee, you will never going to miss this movie ” License to Wed”

I love Mandy Moore and I still remember the first movie I saw with Colbert is “A Walk to remember” by Mandy Moore as well. I cried when I watch that movie.. I guess that is the reason why I will marry him this coming December 2007. Of course, it is never easy to make a decision to be with someone for the rest of your life. The learning process never stops…. So, get yourself a copy of the movie and enjoy it!

Wedding Bridal Shoot at Loyal Bridal - use a camcorder

Filed under: Tips, Wedding — Tags: — admin @ 6:18 pm

Next time you intend to do a reality shoot like us, bring a real camcorder. We took 2 compact cameras (Canon and Casio) and it was not enough. The 3 SD cards (1GB each) was filled to the brim. We have to borrow the PCs at the bridal shop to transfer data into it. Chee Leong had to rush back to my place to grab a laptop. It was havoc. So next time, I will bring a real digital camcorder if I intend to make a video.

Addressing Wedding Invitation Cards

 Wedding Invitation Cards

Here’s a good tip on how Westerners address their invitation cards. This is not something practical for those having non Western weddings but it merely serves to remind us that the correct names is important.

Outer envelope - addressed to the householder. Inner envelope - the names of each person invited. RSVP - some people think the “number of guests” line is confusing, because it might suggest that the invitation is open to more than the number of guests listed on the envelope. However, if the invitation was made out to four people but only two can attend, this is necessary information. Personally, I rather like that line.
