21 Oct 2007 β Heaven forbid, I never want to take my wedding photos again. Michelle and I did the whole bridal photo set thingy back in Dec 2005, which was before my trip to Netherlands in Jan 2006. We decided to have a shoot in Ipoh as we found a shop that had great customer service and custom designed photo albums. We took shots in the studio, a lake near YMCA IPOH and a rubber plantation (forest). Its not surprised I got a lot of mosquito bites in that forest area.
So we headed down to Sunway about 11am on Sunday and visited 2 bridal shops for a feel of the price. All we wanted was to rent the gowns but it costs a freaking RM800 to rent just one (1) bridal gown. Itβs better to grab a package that has car decorations and more than one gown. I shall not mention the first two bridal shops as their lowest price was above RM1800. Definitely out of our budget for this Problogger Wedding project.

5pm β My wife and I headed to this restaurant somewhere in KL. I mistakenly took a wrong road into some bungalows. I wish I had a house over there ! Drove back to the main road and found the signboard. Parking was spacious and they charge RM4 for parking on weekdays. If you have your own function there, then parking is free.
Met up with Andrew (marketing guy) and Maria (the owner). Saw the place was a bit small. They had a cool jazz club upstairs and they charge RM20 for entrance (no drinks).
We proceeded to see the 6 menus that Andrew printed out and decided to look at just Menu 3 and 4. It had the right combination of east and west flavour. Some soup, desserts, fruit punch and the cool signature starter.
Decided on Menu 4 as it suited out budget. Then we chat on about how to place the tables, having canopies on the outside, how many people could fit in for a sit down dinner. The 3 rooms on the ground fits about 150 people. Man, I am definitely going to have to cut down my guest list.
I was beginning to feel the ambience of the restaurant that was pretty homely and I loved it. They had a small function in another room and I saw a lot of foreigners there. They left via a side door which is discrete. Talked about the charges for beer, wine, liquor, PA system. I was shown some pictures of past receptions. Looking at the themes, I loved some of them and it fit well with what we had in mind.. So took everything we heard and headed home. It was time to sit down to cut the guest list, look at the menu and think of a budget to fit my small pocket.
630pm β Passed by another restaurant in KL (behind Avenue K near KLCC) but did not like the outside part. There was hardly any parking space and the parking inside had a dangerous slope. I had to drive my car narrowly pass a Mitsubishi Storm and its pretty scary.

Below : Free ample parking for the guest on that night. I like this place

I am still looking around for a Wedding Photographer. Scoured the web and found this blog by Robin Ng. He takes natural pics of brides and bridegrooms. I loved the one in Phuket, and the ones he did at Sunway South Quay.

I’ve been busy looking for sponsors and vendors for the past 2 weeks. I’ve managed to snap some pics of the places we visited last week. I will post this retrospective news later.
Both Paris and I have just uploaded a new wedding theme to this blog and frankly, it looks so romantic. It looks like a love theme but it still works for this wedding blog.
I spent about 2-3 hours last night to install Wordpress to this site because the hosting sponsored by b5media did not have a Fantastico option for auto installation of Wordpress. Man, it was tough. Somehow the internet connection was very slow and I had to leave the laptop the whole night to let the FTP upload work. I reached office about 7am and when I saw the install page, I was very happy it worked !
We now have 2 new sponsors. They have sponsored in kind (not cash). Please welcome : Marketcircle and Markencom (a PR company)
